Abstract Postimpresionizam umjetnički je pravac, a pojavio se kao reakcija na impresionizam. Ovaj se pravac najintenzivnije razvija tijekom kraja 19. stoljeća i odnosi se na slikarstvo. Za sam naziv postimpresionizam zaslužan je engleski likovni kritičar Roger Fry, koji ga je prvi upotrijebio s ciljem tumačenja novog pravca u umjetnosti, gdje umjetnici odbacuju realističnost i stvaraju vlastitu estetiku (Penelope i sur, 2007). Gledajući stilske karakteristike, postimpresionisti su imali veliko povjerenje u boju kao najjače sredstvo prenošenja emocionalnog, simboličkog i estetskog značenja djela (Brettell, 1999). Dakle, boja kao temeljni element slikarstva, u postimpresionizmu zadobiva subjektivno značenje. Boju možemo definirati kao reakciju fotoosjetljivih čunjića u našem oku na neki svjetlosni podražaj (Jakubin 1989). Na temelju same definicije boje vidljiv je međuodnos boje i čovjeka. Boje različito djeluju na svakog čovjeka, a kao rezultat toga pojavljuju se različite interpretacije simbolike boja. Simbolika boja odnosi se na to da svaka boja ima određeno značenje. Svaki čovjek, budući da jest u međuodnosu s bojama, može na jedinstven način tumačiti boje, i to kroz likovna djela. Kako je upravo postimpresionizam pravac u kojem je naglašen umjetnikov subjektivan tj. individualan pristup, postimpresionistička su djela izvrsna podloga za tumačenje ekspresije i simbolike boja. Dakle, tumačenje ekspresije i simbolike boja u djelima postimpresionista kao poticaj za likovni izraz i njegovu aplikaciju u nastavi likovne kulture. Ovaj rad je podijeljen na dva dijela. U prvom dijelu, koji je teorijski prikupljeni su i analizirani podaci iz dostupne literature te deskriptivnom metodom obrađeni u formi diplomskog eseja. U drugom dijelu, koji je praktični provedena su istraživanja u trajanju od dva školska sata u kojem je cilj bio temu „Ekspresija i simbolika boja u djelima postimpresionista“ aplicirati u nastavi likovne kulture kao poticaj za likovni izraz učenik. Upravo su likovni radovi učenike bili tehnika i instrument za prikupljanje podataka u istraživanju.
Abstract (english) Post – impressionism, as an artistic direction, apeared as a reaction to impressionism. This direction has developed in the most intensive way during the end of the 19. century and is reffering to painting. The title of post – impressionism was given by an english art critic by the name of Roger Fry, who first used it with the attempt of establishing a new direction in art where artists reject realism and make their own estetic (Penelope and co., 2007). By observing stylistic figures post – impressionists have relied on color as the strongest tool for transmision, of emotional, symbolic and estetic meaning of the work (Brettel, 1999). As the foundational element of painting, it gains a subjective meaning in post – impressionism. We can define colour as a reaction of photosensitive cones in our eye to a light stimulus (Jakubin, 1989). Relationship between colour and man is visible based on the foundation of the very definition of colour. Colours react differently to every man, and as a result of that different interpretations of the colour symbolics appear. Colour symbolic relies on every colour having a specific meaning. Every man can determine colours in a specific way, given that he is in a relationship with colours, and through paintings. As post – impressionism is the very direction where the artists subjective or individual aproach is highlighted, post – impressionist works are an ideal base for determing expression and colour symbolics. Therefore, determing the expression and colour symbolics in the works of post – impressionists as encouragement for artistic expression and its application in art class. This work is divided in two parts. In the first part which is theoretical, data from the available literature have been gathered and processed in a descriptive method in the form of a graduate degree essey. In the second part which is practical, a researches have been done in a period of two school classes in which the goal was to applicate the expression theme and colour symbolics in the works of post – impressionists in an art class as an encouragement for the students artistic expression. It is the very artwork of the students that were the tehnique and the instrument for gathering research data.
