Abstract | Glazba je prisutna u mnogim aspektima ljudskog života, koristi se u razne svrhe, te ima velik utjecaj na pojedinca. Funkcije glazbe su emocionalna, socijalna i kognitivna funkcija. Različiti pojedinci sa različitim osobinama ličnosti slušaju različitu glazbu stoga je cilj ovog istraživanja bio ispitati odnos osobina ličnosti i glazbenih preferencija kod muzičara i ne-muzičara. Uzorak muzičara činili su učenici glazbene škole, a uzorak ne-muzičara učenici gimnazije. Ispitivanje se provelo u e-prime programu koji se sastojao od slušanja glazbenih isječaka i ispunjavanja Golbergovog upitnika ličnosti. Učenice su skromnije, pažljivije, ugodnije i emocionalno nestabilnije u odnosu na učenike. Kod muzičara utvrđene su sljedeće povezanosti: ekstraverzija je pozitivno povezana sa rap, R&B, turbofolk i gospel glazbom; ugodnost je negativno povezana glazbenim preferencijama prema rock i punk glazbi, ali pozitivno povezana sa gospel glazbom; savjesnost je negativno povezano sa turbo folkom, a pozitivno povezana sa country glazbom; emocionalna stabilnost je pozitivna sa R&B i pop glazbom, a negativno sa metal glazbom; intelekt je negativno povezan sa turbofolk glazbom. Kod skupine ne-muzičara utvrđene su sljedeće povezanosti: ekstraverzija je pozitivno povezana turbofolk glazbom; ugodnost je pozitivno povezana glazbenim preferencijama prema R&B, world music, country, folk, pop i glazbi. Savjesnost je negativno povezana sa metal glazbom, a pozitivno povezana sa gospel glazbom; emocionalna stabilnost je pozitivno povezana sa new age; intelekt je pozitivno povezan sa preferencijama prema operi, country, new age, jazz i gospel glazbi. Muzičari više preferiraju blues, new age, klasičnu glazbu, folk i punk glazbu. Razlike u osobinama ličnosti kod muzičara i ne-muzičara nisu utvđene na niti jednoj dimenziji ličnosti. |
Abstract (english) | Music is present in many aspects of human life, it is used for different purposes and it has great influence on individuals. Music has emotional, social and cognitive function. Different individuals with different personality characteristics listen to different kinds of music. Therefore the aim of this research was to explore the relationship between personality characteristics and music preferences among musicians and non-musicians. The sample of musicians comprised of music school students and the non-musicians sample was comprised of grammar school students. Testing was conducted by e-prime program which was consisted of listening to music fragments, and filling out the 50 item version of the Goldberg personality questionnaire. It was confirmed that female students are more modest, careful, agreeable and emotionally unstable in relation to male students. Among the musician sample following correlations are confirmed: extraversion is positivelly correlated with rap, R&B, turbofolk i gospel music; agreeableness is negativelly correlated with rock and punk, but positivelly correlated with gospel; conscientious is negativelly correlated with turbofolk, and positivelly correlated with gospel music, emotional stability is positivelly correlated with R&B and pop, but negativelly correlated with metal; intelect is negativelly correlated with turbofolk. Among the non-musician sample following correlations are confirmed: extraversion is positivelly correlated with turbofolk; agreeableness is positivelly correlated with R&B, world music, country, folk, pop music; conscientious is negativelly correlated with metal, and positivelly correlated with gospel music, emotional stability is positivelly correlated with new age, intellect is positivelly correlated with opera, country, new age, jazz and gospel music. Musicians prefer more opera, new age, classic, folk ansd jazz music in comparison to non-musicians, while non-musicians perfer better turbofolk music in comparison to musicians. However, differences in personality dimensions among musicians and non-musicians were not confirmed. |
