Abstract

The aim of this study was to investigate the differences in consumer behavior in women during different phases of the menstrual cycle. More specifically, research was conducted to see whether women differ in their preferences in buying sexy products (clothing and other accessories) and whether women differ in impulsive shopping preferences at different stages of the menstrual cycle (the follicular phase, mid-cycle phase and luteal phase). Data collection was conducted using an on-line survey through Google applications on a sample of 219 respondents. The results indicated that there were no statistically significant differences in the number of selected sexy products between the different phases of the menstrual cycle. Furthermore, the results indicated that there were no statistically significant differences in preferences towards impulsive buying between different phases of the menstrual cycle.
