Abstract

The factors which affect horse behaviour were analyzed: genetic heritage, environment influence and human impact. Behaviour patterns of horses, equine senses, relationship between human and horse were described. The main aim of this study was to get acquainted with, and to interpret horse behaviour in different life situations. The human has crucial role and major responsibility in horse breeding and use because his relationship to horse direct impact on it’s behaviour. An inappropriate horse accommodation and long – term indoor housing at stinting space, threatens the animal welfare resulting in behavioural disorders. The proper treatment of horses is based on knowledge of equine senses, intelligence and psychology. Good communication between human and horse is based on understanding of horse natural needs and depends on knowledge of wild animals behaviour in their natural environment.
