Abstract | Miro Gavran hrvatski je dramatičar, pripovjedač i romanopisac. Uvodeći čitatelja, odnosno gledatelja, u domove umirovljenika, skromne građanske stanove, hotelske sobe, kraljevske dvorove donosi zanimljive i aktualne priče običnih i neobičnih ljudi. U njegovim dramama nema zanosa, velikih patnji, uzvišenih ciljeva, visokih ideala. |
Abstract (english) | Miro Gavran is croatian playwrith, story-teller and novelist. Although his poetic work has left significant mark in a croatian literature, his foremost work is his plays and dramatic work. Gavran is the most translated and most performed Croatian modern playwright. In his plays he brings us to various worlds and introduce us with a wide range of plays with different topics, from plays with historical characters, such as Kreontova Antigona, Shakespeare i Elizabeta, Noć bogova to those with ordinary, contemporary characters set in contemporary society but with timeless topics and issues such as; relationships between men and women (Lutka, Nora danas, Paralelni svjetovi). Bringing characters into ordinary or unusual dramatic situations, Gavran skillfully entangles and unravels complex dramatic actions. By bringing the reader, or the viewer, to retirement homes, modest civic apartments, hotel rooms, royal courts, he tells interesting and current stories of ordinary and unordinary people. There is no fervor, great suffering, lofty goals, high ideals in his drama-plays. We can say that Gavran writes a play about an individual - for an individual. He touches the intimacy and everyday life of ordinary people "from the neighborhood" and serves it to the reader through loneliness, unrequited love, power struggles, small and large human transgressions. This elements are probably the things that made Gavran achieves the affection of the audience and deserves the title of the most performed playwright of today. Because both, readers and audiences find themselves best in everyday stories with which they can identify themself. |
