Abstract
U ovom je istraživanju posebna pozornost posvećena radnoj i obiteljskoj ulozi medicinskih sestara koje rade u smjenama, zatim konfliktu koji se među tim ulogama javlja, ali i uspješnosti rješavanja konflikta između radne i obiteljske uloge. Za tu je svrhu provedeno kvalitativno istraživanje utemeljeno na pregledu i analizi literature o poimanju konflikta rad-obitelj, smjenskom radu i profesiji medicinskih sestara. Podaci su prikupljeni putem polu-strukturiranih intervjua s medicinskim sestrama. Rezultati istraživanja pokazuju kako je u životu medicinskih sestara prisutna kompleksnost uloga medicinske sestre i majke te da je rad u smjenama za njih zahtjevan. Kako bi uspješno obavljale obje uloge bitna je kvalitetna organizacija svakodnevice. Istraživanjem se pokazuje da smjenski rad negativno utječe na uspješno funkcioniranje u radnim i obiteljskim obvezama, ali bez obzira na to medicinske sestre su uglavnom zadovoljne svojim obiteljskim i poslovnim životom.

In this research special attention has been given to work and family roles in nourses life, non-standard work shedules, then work-family conflict between these roles, and to the efficiency of resolving that conflict. Conflict is constructed on qualitative methods which included analysis and oversight of literature about work-family conflict, shift work and noursing profession. Also research data are based od semi-structure interview with eight nourses. Results of this research shows presence of the complexity of work and family roles in nourses life but also demands of shift work. In order to successfully perform both roles, good organization of everyday life is for them very important. This research shows that shift work makes negative control on successful family-work balance, but no matter of that, nourses are mainly satisfied with their family and work life.
