Abstract
Aserija je rimski municipij koji se nalazi na razmeđu Ravnih kotara i Bukovice. Prostor je naseljen od prapovijesti do kasne antike. Istraživanja su provođena još u vrijeme Austro-Ugarske krajem 19. i početkom 20. st. i onda istraživanja prestaju do kraja 20. st. kad se ponovno počinje istraživati na tom lokalitetu. Od arhitekture su najbolje sačuvani antički bedemi koji su napravljeni od masivnih kamenih blokova i u njima se nalaze nekoliko ulaza u grad od kojih su najpoznatija „Trajanova... More vrata“. Prostor rimskog foruma danas prostor mjesnog groblja i teško je vršiti arheološka istraživanja na tom dijelu, ali na njemu se nalazio monumentalni žrtvenik s Vučicom koja doji Romula i Rema koji je pronađen kao spolija u kasnoantičkom bedemu. Prapovijesna, antička i kasnoantička nekropola su se nalazile izvan perimetra bedema. Cestovna mreža u okolici Aserije je u antičko vrijeme i više nego dobra te se ona nalazi na sjecištu putova iz unutrašnjosti i primorja. Less
Abstract (english)
Asseria is a Roman municipium located at the intersection of Ravni kotari and Bukovica. The area was inhabited from prehistoric times to late antiquity. The surveys were carried out as early as the Austro-Hungarian Empire at the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century, and then the surveys ceased until the end of the 20th century when the site was re-explored. The best preserved architectural items are ramparts made of massive stone blocks that have several entrances to the... More city, the most famous being the Trajan's Gate. On the site of an ancient Roman Forum, today we can find a local cemetery, and for that reason, it is difficult to carry out archaeological excavations in that area. It is important to mention that that very site housed a monumental altar with She-Wolf breastfeeding Romulus and Remus, which was found as a spolia in a late antique rampart. The prehistoric, antique and late antique necropolis were located outside the perimeter of the ramparts.
