Abstract (english) Cerebral palsy is a nonprogressive disorder of motor abilities caused by prenatal, perinatal or early postnatal brain damage. Early intervention is extremely important in the treatment process because using physical therapy in timely manner can significantly slow or even stop progression of complications caused by brain injuries during development. A nurse could play an important role because, of all the members of the multidisciplinary team, she is the one that spends the most of the time with the child and his parents. The assessment of the nurse can be momentous in the recognizing or discovering particular difficulties, which can be crucial in timely impact for reduction of those difficulties. One of the main problems children with cerebral palsy often meet is motor deficits and disabilities, which can be seen in disorders of movement and body posture. By using different methods it is being tried to improve motor abilities, especially walking, but also some abilities like moving hands and using them as much as possible. Besides motor disabilities, cerebral palsy includes other disabilities too, such as neurological, visual, aurally, disabilities of senses, orthopedic disabilities and many other that can disturb the quality of life of the child suffering from cerebral palsy. By using appropriate healthcare and communication, by education and consultation with the nurse, parents can be helped to adjust into this newly formed situation they are in, to accept the circumstances and to develop self-efficacy by which they can affect on the welfare of their own child. Efficacy of the nursing care depends of the feeling of trust nurse managed to develop with parents and of including parents in the child's healthcare. It is goal to improve the competencies of parents and to establish a partnership with parents in order to provide better life quality to the whole family.
