Abstract (english) | In the virtual world, in which many activities take place nowadays, besides different entertainment contents, a large amount of educational content is also available in various forms, from simple instructions on use of everyday appliances, to entire degrees which are completely conducted in an online environment. Some of the most frequently used educational tools are online courses, webinars, and tutorials. The goal of this paper is comparing those three different educational tools, according to features of e-learning systems by author Krešimir Pavlina, for the purpose of assessing their efficiency considering the amount of information transmitted, as well as the very organization of the educational tools. The tools that shall be used are a course available on EdX portal, „Identifying community needs for public library management“ webinar named „How to Conduct a Community Needs Assessment“, and a tutorial „Five steps to assessing community needs“ available on the YouTube platform. The educational tools listed deal with the topic of assessing the needs of the community in the work of the public libraries (the course and the webinar), and assessing the community needs in the general sense (the tutorial), and they differ in length, and in the scope of the presented information. The basic characteristics of all the tools used are described, as well as brief explanations of the platforms on which they are available, and the ways in which those platforms can be used. The assessments is conducted after watching the tutorial, and the webinar, and after finishing the on-line course, according to every one of ten features the author Pavlina cites. The results are then compared, and a conclusion as to which of said tools meets the criteria the best, and why, and suggestions of possible improvement of aspects where there is a possibility and potential for improvement are made. |
