Abstract
Roman Lolita Vladimira Vladimiroviča Nabokova izvršio je velik utjecaj na brojne čitatelje. Roman je napisan na engleskom jeziku, a sam ga je autor odlučio prevesti na ruski jezik. Cilj je ovog diplomskog rada prikazati kako glavni muški lik u Loliti manipulira opisom promjene glavnog ženskog lika. Humbert Humbert, pripovjedač romana, predstavlja čitateljima Dolores (Lolitu) Haze, koja spletom životnih okolnosti postaje njegova žrtva, odnosno postaje žrtva pedofila i zlostavljača. Humbert Humbert manipulira svojom pokćerkom i ujedno manipulira svojim čitateljima. Kroz roman Humbert nastoji uvjeriti čitatelje, dajući uvjerljive dokaze, kako je on žrtva manipulacije i zlostavljanja, što ga na kraju dovodi do ludila
Abstract (english)
The novel Lolita, written by Vladimir Vladimirovich Nabokov, had a significant influence on numerous readers. The novel was written in English language and the author himself later translated it into his mother tongue – into Russian language. The aim of this paper is to show how the main male character manages to manipulate with the perception of the main female character. The description of the main female character Dolores (Lolita) Haze is given by Humbert Humbert, the protagonist and the narrator of this novel. Due to different circumstances Dolores (Lolita) Haze becomes a victim of a pedophile and an abuser Humbert Humbert. Humbert Humbert manages to manipulate his stepdaughter and he also manages to manipulate the readers. By providing conclusive evidence Humbert tries to convince the readers that he is the victim of Lolita’s manipulation and abuse, which eventually drives him to madness.
