Abstract (english) In clinical practice, it is very important to have an adequate instruments for measuring certain aspects of some mental disorder. Considering the lack of the instrumets for measuring severity of obsessive-compulsive symptoms and degree of distraction (disfunction), the aim of this study was constructing the Obsessive-compulsive symptoms Questionnaire for clinical and non-clinical sample. The representation of every symptom, existence of differences between clinical and non-clinical sample, contribution of some predictors (like age and personality) in explaining the variance of severity and disfunction was also examined. Because of that, this study was conducted by including 633 participants without psychiatric diagnosis and 97 participants who have obsessive-compulsive, anxiety or depressive disorder. Participants were between 16 and 67 years old and average age was 31. Measuremets used in this study were: the Obsessive-Compulsive Symptoms Questionnaire, the DASS-21 scale, and the IPIP Personality Questionnaire. Using exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis, two-factorial structure of the Questionnaire was established - Symptom severity scale and Degree of distraction scale consists of Obsessive thoughts subscale and Compulsive behaviour subscale. Furthemore, results on both Scales of Obsessive-Compulsive Symptoms Questionnaire positively correlates with depressive, anxiety and stress measurements on both samples. Also, results on Questionnaire negatively correlates with all personality dimensions (except openness) on non-clinical sample, while on clinical sample negative correlation is established mostly with neuroticism. Considering
the differences between samples, participants who have been diagnosed with some mental disorder achieve higher results on Symptom severity scale and Degree of distraction scale comparing to those without any diagnosis. Also, participants who have obsessivecompulsive disorder score higher results on all measures except the severity of obsessive thoughts comparing to those with anxiety and/or depressive disorder. At the end, significant predictors of obsessive-compulsive symptoms are age, self-report of mental health, some personality dimensions and anxiety and stress levels. On the other hand, age, existence of diagnosis, neuroticism and anxiety and stress levels are significant predictors of distraction degree.
