Abstract
Ovaj rad nastoji odgovoriti na pitanje koliko i kako su prikazane žene u udžbenicima povijesti za peti i osmi razred osnovne škole iz 1993./'94. i 2013. godine te postoji li značajna razlika u prikazu žena u novijim udžbenicima u odnosu na starije. Analizirana su dva udžbenika za peti razred i dva udžbenika za osmi razred. Rezultati kvantitativne analize pokazali su da broj muškaraca uvelike premašuje broj žena, što proizlazi iz dominacije političke i vojne povijesti, iako su i većina umjetnika i znanstvenika također muškarci. Sam broj žena u udžbenicima ne daje potpuni prikaz žena u odnosu na muškarce, ali ukazuje na „opću sliku“. Žene se u udžbenicima spominju unutar četiri kategorije: božice/muze, supruge povijesne ličnosti, umjetnice i političarke. U svim se četiri kategorijama pronalaze prikazi žena koji su stereotipni, prikazuju žene na tradicionalan, stereotipan način u ulozi supruge, majke, kćeri. Može se zaključiti da ne dolazi do značajnije promjene u prikazu žena u novijim udžbenicima iz 2013. u odnosu na starije udžbenike iz 1993./'94.

The aim of this article is to show in which way and in what quantity were women portrayed in history textbooks for fifth and eighth grade from 1993./'94. to 2013. The textbooks which were analyzed are from the years 1993./'94 and 2013. The emphasis was on the possible differeneces in portraying of women throughout the years. In the research two textbooks for fith grade and two textbooks for eight grade were analyzed. Results of quantitative analysis showed that the number of men exceeds the number of women, which stems from the domination in areas such as political and military history, although most of the artists and scientists are also men. The sheer number of women in textbooks does not give a complete view of women as compared to men, but points to the "general picture". In history textbooks women are mentioned in four categories: goddess / muse, wifes of a historical figure, artists and politicians. In all four categories there were found images of women who are stereotyped, showing women in traditional, stereotypical way in the role of a wife, mother, daughter. It can be concluded that there are no significant changes in the portrayal of women in the newer textbooks of 2013 compared to the older textbooks 1993./'94.
