Abstract

Parallel abstract (English)
The topic of discussion in this paper is the trade and intermediary activities between Croatian lands in the 18th century as the most prevalent form of economic communication. The development of the trade in goods trend between several Croatian ethnic areas was determined by a number of circumstances, such as fragmentation of the area into a variety of administrative and political factors, the interests of the Venetian and the Vienna headquarters, general geopolitical and social state of the Croatian territory, but the western, central and southeastern Europe as well. Depending on these factors, security and the construction of the traffic infrastructure for commercial purposes has its origins in the first half of the 18th century. On the base of these assumptions derive the central paradigms of the work upon the progress of terrestrial-marine transit trade in the Croatian south and the transit trade of wheat on the Panonian-Adriatic coastal highway, with the emphasis on the second half of the 18th century. Using the argumentative facts from the academic sources, a picture of the trade as an important intermediary medium between the Croatian areas and people in the last century of the Modern age is being created.
