Abstract
This paper discusses the question of female monstrous in Victorian novels based on three novels. The main aim of research is to present the structure of society of that time and their relationship towards women. Furthermore, by means of comparison of three novels, relevant literature and analysis of the existing texts, the aim of research is to present the meaning of monstrosity, to explain what does it mean and in what way is manifested and how, when discussing a certain character. This paper also analysis and discusses the question of inner conflicts of the characters, what causes their instability and fear, and how is their dual personality and madness, manifested.
Abstract (croatian)
Ovaj rad analizira i raspravlja pitanje čudovišnog u ženi u Viktorijanskim romanima, te se temelji na na analizi tri romana. Glavni cilj ovoga rada je prikazati strukturu društva tog doba te njihov odnos prema ženama. Nadalje, putem usporedbe triju romana i relevantnom literaturom i analizom već postojećih radova, cilj je prikazati značenje čudovišnog u ženi, što je to što je čudovišno, na koji način se manifestira i kako, kod određenog lika. Isto tako ovaj rad analizira i raspravlja zbog čega dolazi do unutarnjih konflikta lika, čime je uzrokovana njihova nestabilnost i strah, te na koji način se manifestira njihova dvojna osobnost i ludilo
