Abstract
Ovaj rad je kratak pregled rimskih cesta i njihove uloge u romanizaciji Dalmacije, opisane su tehnike gradnje cesta i prilagodba grubom lokalnom terenu. Opisana je povijesna pozadina, posebno kampanje Julija Cezara i Oktavijana protiv Delmata. Prikazan je utjecaj ustanka Batona na gradnju mreže cesta pod vodstvom namjesnika Dolabele. Najvažniji antički lokaliteti oko Petrova polja su prikazani s posebnim osvrtom na prometni položaj. Na kraju je posebna pažnja posvećenaarheološkim tragovima glavnih i sporednih cesta oko Petrova polja.
Abstract (english)
To summarize, this was a short review of Roman roads and their role in romanisation of Dalmatia, as well as building techniques and their adjustment to rough local terrain. Historical background of this work reflected on wars in the area, especially by Julius Caesar and campaign that Augustus waged against Delmatae, leading to their defeat. Further, this paper also described the influence of Bellum Batonicum, as well as Dolabella's work to establish a connected network of roads. Archaeological sites of Burnum and Tilurium were of great importance for Roman logistics at the time, which is covered in fourth chapter. Ultimatley, this paper covered main highways, as well as minor roads in vicinity.
