Abstract
U tekstu se obrađuje zadarski forum sa svojim kompleksom. Zadar je u Drugom svjetskom ratu pretrpio veliku štetu zbog zračnog bombardiranja, a uklanjanje ruševina zahtijevalo je dosta vremena. Tako šezdesetih godina Zadar postaje veliko gradilište. Ta je prilika iskorištena za obavljanje zaštitnih i arheoloških istraživanja koja su izrodila sjajnim rezultatima. Širi prostor antičkog foruma istraživan je od 1962. do 1967. godine. Forum s kapitolijem srce je svakog rimskog grada. Počeci gradnje... More foruma sežu u doba osnutka kolonije, u 1. st. pr. Kr., a konačan izgled forum je dobio rekonstrukcijom u 3. st. posl. Kr. Dužina mu je 95 m, a širina 45,5 m. S tri strane forum je bio okružen portikom. Na jugoistočnoj i sjeveroistočnoj strani nalazile su se trgovine (taberne), a na jugozapadnoj velika gradska bazilika za sastanke gradskog vijeća i zborove suđenja. Na sjeverozapadnoj su strani bila dva monumentalna stupa od kojih je samo jedan sačuvan, a u srednjem vijeku služio je kao stup srama. Hram na kapitoliju orginalno je bio posvećen Jupiteru, Junoni i Minervi, o čemu svjedoče i natpisi na postoljima za kipove iz unutrašnjosti hrama. Prostor kapitolija smjestio se uz forum, nadvisujući ga za oko 1,80 m. Hram je imao šest kaneliranih korintskih stupova na pročelju i počivao je na visokom uzdignutom podiju. Čitav kapitolij bio je s tri strane okružen trijemom. Podno čeonog zida kapitolija nalaze se ostaci ležišta žrtvenika, vezanih za krvne žrtve obreda istočnjačkih kultova u odmaklom Carstvu. Abstract (english)
The paper analyzes Roman forum in Zadar with it’s complex. Zadar suffered substantial damage from aerial bombardment in II. World War. It took years to remove and reconstruct some buildings. Zadar was one huge building site in 1960s. It was an opportunity to carry out rescue archaeological excavations that resulted in great finds. Area around the ancient forum with his capitolium was explored from 1962. to 1967. The forum with the capitolium was the heart of every Roman city. The beginning... More of the forum construction dates back from 1st century BC, and it reached it’s final look by the reconstruction in the 3rd century AD. It is 95 meters long and 45.5 meters wide. On three sides it was bounded by the portico. The shops (tabernae) were lined along its south-eastern and north-eastern sides and the great municipal basilica was located on the south-western side. The town council meetings, public gatherings and trials took place here. From two monumental columns that towered on the north-western side, only one is preserved today. In middle ages it was used as pillory of shame. Capitoline temple was originally dedicated to Jupiter, Juno and Minerva, which is seen from inscriptions on the basis of the statue from interior of temple. The capitolium was adjacent to the Forum, topping the latter by approximately 1.8 meters. The temple had six fluted Corinthian colums in facade and rested on an elevated platform. The entire capitolium was surrounded on three sides with portico. At the foot of the front wall there are remains of two altars. Remains reminiscent blood sacrifice rituals from Eastern cults in the advanced Empire.
