Abstract
Uvođenje računalne tehnologije pospješuje suradnju, razvija maloprodaju i načine distribucije te svakako mijenja odnose ekonomske moći, što neizbježno dovodi do stvaranja okruženja gdje maloprodaja kao grana djelatnosti ima sve više izgleda da postane još moćniji čimbenik u kanalima distribucije roba i usluga. Prodaja predstavlja čin promjene vlasništva nad prodanom robom, a distribucija čin premještanja robe od jednog vlasnika drugom. Distribucija i prodaja moraju raditi zajedno kako bi se osigurala opskrba kupaca u pravo vrijeme, na pravom mjestu i u odgovarajućem asortimanu. Globalizacija tržišta, dislokacija proizvodnje i pojava novih tehnologija u prijevozu, pakiranju i održavanju robe u ispravnom stanju pridonijeli su mogućnosti da se proizvodi u jednoj državi proizvode za potrebe drugih država. Fleksibilnost je ključni čimbenik uspješne proizvodnje. Suvremena poslovna strategija temelji se na maksimalnoj fleksibilnosti prema zahtjevima kupaca i težnji da se smanje ne samo proizvodni troškovi, već i troškovi distribucije.

The introduction of computer technology enhances collaboration, developing retail and distribution methods, and certainly changed economic power relations, which inevitably leads to the creation of an environment where retail, as well as industries, are more likely to become even more powerful factor in channels of distribution of goods and services. Selling is an act of ownership change of the sold goods while distribution is moving goods from one owner to another. Distribution and sales have to work together to jointly ensure the supply of customers at the right time, in the right place in an appropriate selection. The globalization of markets, dislocation of production, the emergence of new technologies in transport, packaging and maintenance of the goods in good condition, contributed to the possibility that there is production in one country for purposes of other countries. Key thing in production is flexibility. Contemporary business strategy is based on the maximum flexibility to customers' requirements and aspirations to reduce not only production costs, but also distribution costs.
