Abstract
U ukupnoj hortikulturnoj flori kućnih vrtova kopnenog dijela mediteranske zone zadarske županije, gdje smo uzeli u obzir i utilitarne i ukrasne vrste, zabilježeno je ukupno 325 svojti unutar 107 porodica.

The purpose of this research is to get an insight in useful plants flora in homegardens of Zadar county mainland within the mediterranean zone, and to enrich all other researches that have been done in this area. The goal of this research is to determine and thoroughly analyze useful plants in homegardens of Zadar county mainland within the mediterranean zone. In order to do that and to get wanted results it was neccesary to analyze total holticultural flora, both: useful and decorative plants in homegardens of Zadar county mainland within the mediterranean zone For this research, 43 home gardens are randomly picked in different locations of Zadar county (within the eumediterranean and submediterannean climate zone) in the period from March 2015 till June 2016. Investigating total horticultural flora, both: useful and decorative plants in homegardens of Zadar county mainland within the mediterranean zone, 325 plant species under 107 families were recorded. The most represented family is Asteraceae (29; 8,92%), and the most represented among life forms are perennials (90; 27,69%). Evergreen species (212; 65,23%) are more represented then the deciduous ones (113; 34,77%). Non native species are dominantly present over the native plants (65; 20%), which is already confirmed by the other home garden researchers. By geographic origin, plants are mostly from Europe (85; 26,15%) and Asia (61; 18,77%). Utility plants presence (169; 52%) prevail over the decorative plants presence (156: 48%). Thoroughly analyzing useful plants (169 species) in homegardens of Zadar county mainland within the mediterranean zone we discover that the most represented family was Rosaceae (20; 11,83%). According to plant life form, the most dominant were trees and perennials (39; 23,08%). Non native species (117; 69,23%) are again dominant (117; 69,23%) against native plants (52; 30,77%). The most of utility plants have European origin (56; 33,14%), then follow Asian and Mediterranean plants which are equally represented (25; 14,79%). Utility plants are sorted out by its utility properties and the most represented are medicinal plants (46; 27,22%), then medicinal fruit (29; 17,16%). Vegetables and medicinal/aromatical/plants are equally distributed (26; 16,38%), then medicinal vegetables (16; 9,47%), aromatic plants (15; 8,88%), fruits (9; 5,33%), and the least, medicinal/aromatical vegetables (2; 1,18%).
