Abstract Zadarskom skulpturom 11. stoljeća prvi se započeo sustavnije baviti Ivo Petricioli, a potom i drugi autori. Petra i Mojsija u Solinu. Marije.
Abstract (english) Ivo Petricioli was the first scholar in Croatia to start more detailed analysis of the 11th century sculptures in Zadar. By analyzing and comparing the sculptures he created a possibility for the largest number of those reliefs to be recognized as the achievement of the same carving schools ie. two early Romanesque carving schools, “Zadar – Split (Solin) carving school” and “Zadar – Knin carving school”. Those schools were named after the towns they belonged to. It has been widely accepted that “Zadar – Split carving school” created following sculptures: ciborium of Proconsul Gregory at Zadar, ciborium of St Thomas, pluteus from St Nediljica, pluteus with the figure of a Croatian king located in a baptistery of St John in Split, and parts of liturgic installations from the ruins of the Basilica of St Peter and Moses in Solin. “Zadar – Knin carving school” created sculpture equipment of St Lawrence church in Zadar, its pluteus and north portal, heraldic eagles and two capiteis, one of which has the figure in the gesture of orant, and also a stone transenna from the church of St Mary in Knin. Considering all morphological characteristics, Petricioli has attributed all of these sculptures to these two groups. There are also many 11th century reliefs in Zadar which are not produced by these two schools but we have to mention them within 11th century Zadar art and they include: two gables from Zadar Cathedral, a part of pluteus with opposite placed griffons from the St Chrysogonos church in Zadar, a relief with a foursquare and a pawn from Zadar Archaeological Museum, ceramic parts and a stone part of an aspersion (Easter candle holder) from St Mary’s church and convent.
