Abstract Jezero Butoniga se nalazi u središtu Istre, formirano je umjetno 1987.g., a nastalo je potapanjem prirodnog područja zbog obrane od poplava i vodoopskrbe Istre, pogotovo za vrijeme ljetnih mjeseci. Zauzima površinu od 2,5 km2 i puni se vodom iz slivnog područja površine 73 km2. Prosječna dubina iznosi 7 metara a kod punog jezera količina vode u jezeru iznosi 19,7 milijuna m3.
U strukturi ihtiofaune umjetnog jezera Butoniga utvrđeno je 9 vrsta riba koje su svrstane u pet porodica i to: Riječne jegulje (Anguillidae) s predstavnikom porodice jeguljom (Anguilla anguilla); štuke (Esocidae) s predstavnikom porodice europskom štukom (Esox lucius); šarani (Cyprinidae) s vrstama babuška (Carasius gibelio), šaran (Cyprinus carpio), bijeli klen (Squalius squalus), bodorka (Rutilus rutilus), linjak (Tinca tinca) kao predstavnicima te porodice grgeči (Percidae) s predstavnikom porodice smuđem (Sander lucioperca) i sunčanice (Centrarichidae) sa istoimenim predstavnikom porodice sunčanicom (Lepomis gibbosus). Postojeća ihtiofauna je vrlo mješovita i pod jakom antropogenim utjecajem. Utvrđeno je da su šaran i babuška nepoželjne vrste jer uzrokuju degradaciju jezerske vode. Glavni predatori su smuđ i štuka. Utvrđeno je da se u jezeru nalazi 8 vrsta planktonskih rakova skupine Cladocera i Copepoda.
U radu su analizirani fizikalno-kemijski parametri jezerske vode (temperatura, ph, mutnoća, elektrovodljivost i dr.) mjereni od svibnja do listopada 2012. godine. te je jezero Butoniga sagledano kao stanište s biotskim i abiotskim čimbenicima koji utječu na ekosustav jezera i djelovanje istih na kakvoću vode.
Abstract (english) Butoniga Lake is located in the center of Istria, it was formed in the year 1987 and it was created by flooding of the natural area due to flood protection and water supply of Istria, especially during the summer months. It occupies a surface of 2.5 km2 and is filled with water from the catchment area of 73 km2. The average depth is 7 meter and in the full lake the water volume is 19.7 million m3.
Lake Butoniga is a habitat of ichthyofauna and this makes the ecosystem of the lake. In the structure of ichthyofauna accumulation of Butoniga, 9 species of fish have been identified in five families; Anguillidae: european eel (Anguilla anguilla), Esocidae: northern pike (Esox lucius), Cyprinidae: gibel carp (Carasius gibelio), european carp (Cyprinus carpio), italian chub (Squalius squalus), roach (Rutilus rutilus), tench (Tinca tinca), Percidae: zander (Sander lucioperca) and Centrarichidae: pumpkinseed (Lepomis gibbosus). The existing ichthyofauna is very mixed and understrong anthropogenic influence. It was found that gibel carp and european carp are undesirable species because they cause the degradation of lake water. The main predators are zander and northern pike. It was found that there are 8 types of planktonic crabs in the lake of Cladocera and Copepoda.
The physico-chemical parameters (temperature, ph, turbidity, electrical conductivity) were analyzed from May to October 2012. and lake Butoniga was observed as a habitat with biotic and abiotic factors affecting the lake ecosystem and their potential impact on water quality.
