There is a certain peculiarity, and especially when they are all merged, about the notions of comedy, grotesque bodies and disgust as they are undoubtedly one of the extensively researched and yet obscured realms of both interest and necessity. The intention of this paper is upon the examination of a body of literature on comic representation of grotesque bodies through disgust to reach the objectives laid down in form of research questions that are to be analysed. The reflected research questions addressed the issues of identifying the manner in which disgust is used as a social commentary, the influence of comedy on regulating abjection and disgust, and its impact on rendering disgusting grotesque bodies agreeable. More to the point, what the results uncovered was that crucial society’s problems were displayed through disgust and that comedy employed laughter and love, which had a positive effect on manoeuvring abjection and disgust and made disgusting grotesque bodies acceptable.Therefrom, an inference in relation to comedy and disgust calls attention to scientists and educators to follow future researches to familiarise themselves with new trends, problems and methods in this realm.
