Abstract
Diplomski rad pristupa fenomenu grada u tekstovima Listopad Tomislava Marijana Bilosnića, Grad u zrcalu Mirka Kovača i Katedrala autora Ive Brešana. Bilosnić, Kovač i Brešan donose lirski diskurs pripovijedanja, obogaćen mitom, mitologijom i simbolikom. Analizirani književni tekstovi oblikuju grad i kroz problemsko promišljanje o Domovinskom ratu i njegovim posljedicama. Otkrivanje identiteta gradova unutar književnih tekstova možemo ujedno postaviti i kao središnju tezu rada.

Parallel abstract (English)
This thesis approaches the phenomena of the city in works; Listopad by Tomislav Marijan Bilosnić, Grad u zrcalu by MirkoKovač, and Katedralaby Ivo Brešan. Novels were published the same year, to be exact 2007 and 2008. In the context of contemporary Croatian novel, these novels are marked by autobiographical note; the authors identify themselves with the city (Zadar, Dubrovnik, Šibenik). Bilosnić, Kovač and Brešan bring lyric discourse of narration, enriched with myth, mythology and symbolism. In the works of contemporary Croatian prose that were mentioned above, city is not only seen as a subject matter or a venue, but it also takes on a role of literary character in the novel. Different social and historical changes affect literary work, especially the image of city in the text. Literary texts that were analyzed in this thesis shape the city through thinking about Croatian War of Independence and its consequences. Revealing identities of the cities within these literary texts can also be set as a central objective of this thesis.
