Abstract (croatian) Ovaj završni rad bavi se prikazom maloljetnih izbjeglica u romanu Das Mädchen mit
dem Fingerhut (2016) autora Michaela Kӧhlmeiera. Rad je podijeljen u šest poglavlja i u
teorijskom dijelu daje uvid u temu.
time povezane, posebice kada se radi o djeci izbjeglicama bez pratnje i roditelja. Zbog svojih
djevojčica sama nadjenula ime, čine mjesta i protagonistkinju u vremenu kada mnogo djece
dijeli istu sudbinu, lako zamjenjivim.
Abstract (english) This thesis deals with portrayal of underage refugee children in Michael Kӧhlmeier's
novel Das Mädchen mit dem Fingerhut (2016). Thesis consists of six chapters and gives an
overview about theme in theoretical part of paper. Ensuing analysis of novel amount to study
of appearance of children. Although it wasn't Kӧhlmeier's attention, he points out current
refugee problems in Europe and difficulties with assimilation. These difficulties have
especially unaccompanied parent-less refugee children. Because of their way of acting, these
children give an impression like they don't want to assimilate and in that way, they remind of
so-called „Wolfskinder“. So the main themes in this novel are flight, fear, hunger, survival,
strangeness and inability to speak.
This novel relates to orphaned refugee children who escape from refugee hostel. In the
center of the plot is a girl with a thimble that wanders through the big city and doesn't give up
on her life despite unability to communicate. Unknown places and the fact that the girl gives
herself a name, are making places and protagonist replaceable in this time, when a lot of
children are dealing with the same destiny.
