Abstract
Le thème principal du mémoire de master est la Grande Guerre et le roman français. Le but est de présenter comment les écrivains français abordent le thème de la Grande Guerre dans ses romans. D’abord, on évoque de la Grande Guerre et du phénomène de la guerre en général. Ensuite, on analyse l’approche à la Grande Guerre dans la littérature française. On choisit les quatre écrivains français et ses romans qui sont : Céline et son Voyage au bout de la nuit, Proust et Le temps retrouvé, Montherlant et Le songe et Rouaud et Les champs d’honneur. En les comparant, on aperçoit leurs caractéristiques spécifiques et, en même temps, les différences. Également, on analyse la popularité du thème de la Grande Guerre dans la littérature d’aujourd’hui. Enfin, on donne une conclusion. Grâce à la comparaison on conclut que les romans sont vraiment différents grâce aux perspectives différentes des auteurs. Les méthodes utilisées sont l’analyse comparative et l’interview.

Parallel abstract (English)
The main theme of this master thesis is the Great War and the French novel. The aim is to present how French writers process the theme of Great War in theirs novels. First, I speak of the phenomenon of the war in general and the Great War. Then, I analyze the approach to the theme in French literature. Four different writers and theirs novels are selected: Céline and Voyage au bout de la nuit, Proust and Le temps retrouvé, Montherlant and Le songe and Rouaud and his Les champs d’honneur. By comparing them, are seen common specific characteristics, but at the same time and differences. It analyzes the popularity of topics in literature today. The paper concludes that novels are really different and the ways in which the authors speak of the Great War. The paper used the method of comparative analysis and interviews.

Glavna tema diplomskog rada je Prvi svjetski rat i francuski roman. Cilj je prikazati kako francuski pisci obrađuju temu Prvog svjetskog rata u svojim romanima. Najprije se govori općenito o fenomenu rata i Prvom svjetskom ratu. Slijedi analiza pristupa temi u francuskoj literaturi. Odabrana su četiri francuska autora i njihovi romani: Céline i Voyage au bout de la nuit, Proust i Le temps retrouvé, Montherlant i Le songe te Rouaud i Les champs d’honneur. Usporedbom romana uočavaju se zajedničke specifične karakteristike, ali u isto vrijeme i razlike. Analizira se i popularnost teme u literaturi današnjice. Rad završava zaključkom kako su romani uistinu različiti kao i načini na koje autori govore o Prvom svjetskom ratu. U radu su korištene metode komparativne analize i intervjua.
