Abstract Brojna istraživanja bavila su se odnosom konzumacije psihoaktivnih tvari i osobinama ličnosti.
Abstract (english) Numerous studies have focused on the relationship between consumption of psychoactive substances and personality traits, while the results for conscientiousness, openness and neuroticism are unambiguous, those related to extraversion aren't. Although many studies have confirmed the significance of extraversion as a predictor for the use of psychoactive substances, in some, this connection is not found to be significant. Individuals who are extraverted are, in other words, open and relaxed in the company of other people. However, there is a small number of research in which they took into consideration a large specter of substances. Taking that into consideration, the goal of this study was to examine the relation between the consumption of various psychoactive substances with extraversion. The research was carried out through an online survey that was constructed of the HEXACO PI-R subscale for extraversion and a questionnaire regarding the frequency of ones consumption of various mentioned psychoactive substances. The sample consisted of 330 individuals (111 men and 219 women) from the age group 18-25. The results showed that alcohol and cigarettes where the two most commonly used substances. Marihuana was the most commonly consumed drug while heroin had the lowest rates of consumption. In general, men consume more ecstasy and marihuana than women, while no difference was found regarding cigarettes, alcohol and cocaine. More opened and relaxed people in comparison to those less open tend to drink more wine and mixed drinks. However, for the consumption of cigarettes, beer, hard liquor, ecstasy, marihuana, as well as cocaine, the difference between more and less open and relaxed individuals was not found.
