Abstract Tema ovog diplomskog rada odnosi se na definiranje i mjerenje konkurentnosti u MICE turizmu na primjerima triju vodećih hotelskih poduzeća u hrvatskom hotelijerstvu. Korišteni instrumenti za provođenje navedene analize su financijska analiza i financijski pokazatelji, tradicionalni i najčešće korišteni pokazatelji za ocjenu poslovanja poduzeća u Hrvatskoj. Rad je sastavljen od dvije glavne cjeline: teorijskog okvira u kojem je navedena iznimna važnost ulaganja u kongresni turizam kako bi se Hrvatska, poznata kao dugogodišnja odmorišna destinacija, repozicionirala na svjetskom tržištu, nudeći inovativne turističke proizvode, a istovremeno imajući kvalitetan i motiviran visoko obrazovani ljudski kadar, bazirajući se na goste više platežne moći, a u cilju smanjenja značajnog problema sezonskih oscilacija u turizmu. MICE turizam je upravo takav specifični oblik turizma koji ne ovisi o vremenskim uvjetima, donosi veliku potrošnju, ali zahtjeva vrlo razvijenu turističku i prometnu infrastrukturu, modernu tehnologiju i bogatu prirodnu i društvenu resursnu osnovu. Ističe se važnost unaprijeđenja prometne infrastrukture, kvalitete smještajnih kapaciteta, obrazovanja kadrova, jasno brendiranje i promocija, valoriziranje prirodnih idruštvenih atrakcija te angažiranje državnih organa. Praktični dio rada povezuje važnost razvoja kongresnog turizma Hrvatske i unaprijeđenje konkurentskih pozicija postojećih perspektivnih MICE hotela na Jadranskoj obali. Korištena je analiza konkurentnosti na primjeru triju vodećih kongresnih hotela: Radisson Blu Resorta u Splitu, Hotela Le Meridien Lav u Splitu te Radisson Blu Resorta Dubrovački Vrtovi Sunca u Dubrovniku. Izabrana je financijska analiza temeljnih financijskih izvještaja poduzeća kao jedna od najvažnijih i najdetaljnijih tradicionalnih načina ocjene uspješnosti poslovanja poduzeća u Hrvatskoj. Primjenom vertikalne i horizontalne analize te analize financijskih pokazatelja, stvara se kvalitetna i opsežna podloga za ocjenu financijskog položaja i uspješnosti poslovanja, za analizu jaza u poslovanju odabranih poduzeća i temelj za razvoj daljnjih strateških odluka kojima će se unaprijediti konkurentska pozicija poduzeća na domaćem i međunarodnom turističkom tržištu.
Abstract (english) The topic of this final paper is definition and measuring competitiveness of MICE tourism by examples of three leading hotels companies in Croatian hospitality. The instruments used to conduct this analysis are financial analysis and financial indicators, traditional and commonly used indicators for business assessment in Croatia. This final paper consists of two main unit: a theoretical framework in which the significance of investment in congress tourism is mentioned, in order to reposition Croatian as a longstanding holiday destination, offering innovative tourists products, while retaining high quality and highly motivated and educated human resources. In the same time, it should be based on guests of more compelling power, thereby reducing a big problem of seasonal oscillations in tourism. MICE tourism is such a specific form of tourism, which does not depand on weather conditions, generates great spending, but on the other hand, requires highly developed touristic and transport infrastructure, modern technology and rich natural and social resource base. Hier, the importance of improving the transport infrastructure and connectivity, the quality of accommodation capacities, the education of human resources, strong branding and promotion, the valorisation of natural and social attractions, and the engagement of government department are emphasized. Practical part of the final paper links the importance of the development of congress tourism in Croatia and the advancement of the competitive position of existing prospective MICE hotels on the Adriatic coast. Competitive analysis was used on the example of three leading congress hotels: Radisson Blu Resort in Split, Hotel Le Meridien Lav in Split and Radisson Blue Resort Dubrovnik Sun Gardens in Dubrovnik. The financial analysis of the company's core financial statements was selected as one of the most important and most traditional methods for assessing business performance in Croatia. By applying vertical and horizontal analysis and analysis of financial indicators, a good and comprehensive basis for assessing financial postion and business performance, analyzing the gap in business operations of selected companies and creating the basis for further stategic decisions to improve the competitive position of the company on domestic and international tourism market.
