Anhand von Zitaten aus dem zweiten Teil der Tragödie wird die heutige gesellschaftliche Lage geschildert und kritisiert. Das zentrale Problem stellt das Geld dar, das mit gewissen menschlichen Eigenschaften in Verbindung gesetzt wird: Geiz, Machtsucht, Gier und amoralisches Wirken. Das Geld stellt daher einen Faden dar, an den andere Probleme geknüpft und erklärt werden. Das sind die Schulden und deren Ermöglichung, die Entstehung des Geldes, der Wertewechsel, die zerfallene Moral und die schlechte Verwendung von Reichtum und Macht. Es stellt sich heraus, dass die heutige Welt nur eine Verstärkung der faustischen darstellt, in der Geld und Macht zu Äquivalenten geworden sind. Dabei wird am meisten der Mensch alleine kritisiert, der so einen Zustand erlaubt hat und sein Leben auf falschen Werten aufbaut. Bei dem Aufbau der zu bearbeitenden Problemstellung dieser Arbeit wird sowohl Goethes Leben betrachtet, als auch die Entstehungsgeschichte seines Werkes.
Abstract (english) This paper connects two worlds: Goethe's Faust and the present time. The society is explained and criticised with the help of quotes from the second part of the tragedy. The main problem is the money, which is connected whith specific characteristics of men and those are: greed, the wish to maintain power and immoral actions. Money is the problem that develops other problems, which are explained in the work. Those are debts and their possibility, creation of money, the moral change and the bad effects and use of money and power. We can conclude that the world in which money and power have nearly the same value, is just another picture of the world in Faust. The most critics are directed towards humankind, that is responsible for this situation in the world built on the wrong values. This paper also talks about Goehe's life and the formation of his work.
Abstract (croatian) Ovaj rad povezuje dva svijeta: Goetheovog Fausta i sadašnjost. Uz pomoć citata iz drugog dijela Goetheove tragedije, iznosi se, ali i kritizira današnje stanje u društvu. Pri tome središnji problem predstavlja novac, koji se dovodi u vezu sa određenim osobinama čovjeka, a to su: pohlepa, želja za moći, škrtost i nemoralno djelovanje. Stoga novac predstavlja nit na koju se nadovezuju drugi problemi, a koji se potom pobliže objašnjavaju. To su dugovi i njihova mogućnost, nastanak i proizvodnja novca, zaokret u vrijednostima, pad morala i loša uporaba bogatstva i moći. Sve to vodi do zaključka da je današnji svijet, u kojem su novac i moć u odnosu ekvivalentnosti, samo življa slika onog svijeta koji je prikazan u Faustu. Pri tome najveća kritika pogađa čovjeka samog, koji je dopustio takvo stanje i koji gradi život na krivim vrijednostima. Pri razvijanju problematike u obzir se uzimaju Goetheov život, kao i povijest nastajanja njegovog djela.
