Značajnu ulogu će odigrati obiteljska situacija, vršnjaci, mediji, socioekonomska situacija, sociokulturni kontekst, psihosocijalni faktori i biološki faktori.
Abstract (english) The period of adolescence is very turbulent and it is marked by adaptation to changes in physical, cognitive, social, emotional and behavioural aspects of personality. During this period, increased sexuality awareness makes adolescents want to experiment, and it will be done in different ways, depending on acquired norms and values. When adolescent pregnancy occurs, adolescents are faces with three options – abortion, adoption, or parenting. Adolescent pregnancy is a complex phenomenon which is a result of numerous factors. Family situation, peers, media, socioeconomic situation, sociocultural context, psychosocial and biological factors, will all play an important role. Adolescent pregnancies are mostly influenced by educational and economic situation, and sexual exploitation. Prevention of risky sexual behaviour aiming to lower the number of adolescent pregnancies is to be systematically conducted in school programmes, families and media. Sexual education in Croatian schools is still not successfully organized, but there are firm indications that it will soon be implemented in the school curriculum. A number of foreign successful sexual education programmes prove that the school system is a very good place to form proper sexuality attitudes and information. Pedagogues have a significant role when it comes to counselling adolescents who are dealing with a pregnancy problem, by supporting and presenting available options for pregnancy and further education.
