Abstract
Geografski položaj i broj stanovnika nije uvijek najvažniji čimbenik broja ojkonima jednog naselja, no njihova važnost je neosporiva. Korpusna i poredbena analiza dovode do zaključka kako se prezimena utjecajem vremena i društva mijenjaju, gube dijalektalna obilježja i nestaju.

Parallel abstract (English)
Main goal of this paper is to collect and preserve onomastic treasure. Area of research is Bednja county with 25 villages surrounded by mountains and hills. Geographical isolated area caused keeping more archaic forms in last names. While the population drastically decreased in the past seventy years, number of last names stayed relatively the same. Etymological origin is in nicknames, hypocoristics, zoonyms and fitonyms from nearby environment of the bearer’s last name with plenty dialectal features. You can notice the changes caused by time, social development and interference of standard language. Some last names for the reasons mentioned disappeared or multiple varietys of a last name were reduced to one. Due to migration last names are spreaded on more villages than earlier. The link between the frequency of appearing of a curtain last name and oikonym names has been determent. Geographical location and number of residents isn't always the most important factor of oikonyms in a village but their importance is undisputable. Corpus and comparative analysis lead to conclusion that last names with the influence of time and society are changing, losing dialectal features and disappearing.
