Abstract
Brodski elektromotorni pogon je sastavljen od električnih strojeva i uređaja koji koristeći i trošeći električnu energiju proizvode mehaničku energiju. Elektromotorni pogon se sastoji od elektromotora, sustava za upravljanje i regulacije i sustava za napajanje. Od ukupne potrošnje električne energije na brodu na elektromotorne pogone otpada između 75 i 80 % . Tu spadaju električni pogoni pumpa, kompresora, ventilatora i ostalih pomoćnih strojeva potrebnih za rad glavnih strojeva. Glavni je pogon elektromotornog pogona elektromotor. On upravlja ili automatski regulira određenim radnim procesom s pomoću upravljačkih i regulacijskih elemenata. Pojedine tehničke karakteristike elektromotornih pogona kao što su veličina napona, frekvencija, vrsta pogona su standardizirane. Često se elektromotorni pogon mora smjestiti u prostor gdje su prisutne eksplozivne smjese. Pogonske karakteristike pomoćnih brodskih strojeva su vrlo različite. Potrebno ih je detaljno poznavati da bi smo mogli izvršiti pravilan izbor elektromotornog pogona. Zbog zaštite od klimatskih i mehaničkih utjecaja i zaštite ljudi od udara električne struje, elektromotorni pogoni moraju imaju odgovarajući stupanj mehaničke zaštite. Elektromotor treba imati odgovarajuću vanjsku karakteristiku koja će omogućiti stabilan rad. Obavezno imaju podnaponsku zaštitu, zaštitu od kratkog spoja i zaštitu od preopterećenja. Mora se provoditi redovita kontrola i održavanje samog pogona. Pod električnim porivom broda uobičajeno se podrazumijeva elektromotorni pogon brodskog vijka. Dijeli se na potpuno električnu propulziju i propulziju s električnim prijenosom.

Marine electric motor is made up of electrical machinery and devices using and consuming electricity produced mechanical energy. Electromotive plants consist of an electric motor, system management and control and system power. Of the total electricity consumption on board the electromotive plants waste between 75 and 80 %. This group of consumers includes the electric pump, compressor, fan and various auxiliary equipment necessary for the operation of the main engines. The main electric drive is electric motor. He operated or automatically regulates certain working process with a control and regulatory elements. Some technical characteristics of electric drives as well as the size of the voltage, frequency, operating mode are standardized. The electric motor must be placed often in a room where are explosive mixtures. Operational characteristics of marine auxiliary machines are very different. They should be thoroughly with that we could make the proper selection of electrical drive. Because of the climate and mechanical impact and protect people from electric shock, electric drives must have an appropriate degree of protection. The electric motor should have a corresponding external feature that will allow stable operation. They have necessarily a voltage protection, short circuit and overload protection. It must be carried out regular checks and maintenance of the drive. Under electrical impulse ship usually means electric motor propeller. It is divided into all-electric propulsion and propulsion with electric transmission.
