Abstract
Zbog sve bržeg razvoja tehnologije i komunikacijskih platformi u mogućnosti smo stupiti u kontakt s osobama različitih kulturoloških pozadina.

Parallel abstract (English)
Because of the rapid development of technology and communication platforms, we cancontact people from diverse backgrounds. Each of us found himself, at least once, in a situation where he met a person from another country. Intercultural skills can help us in such situations. Intercultural communication has become normal in the 21st century. To achieve effective intercultural communication, it’s important to develop our intercultural skills. This work deals with the theory of intercultural communication, defines the term itself, it breaks down the strategy and makes recommendations to improve intercultural communication. Also, for this work research was carried on tourist guides from two cities, Zadar and Šibenik. Semi-structured in-depth interviews were used to get extensive information about the way our tour guides are communicating with guests who visit us. The research results are presented and explained in the paper. Intercultural communication is important for tourist guides because they participate in it in each of their interpretation. It’s important that tourist guides understand the very concept of intercultural communication and apply their skills in the interpretation for the tourists. Tourist guides with developed intercultural skills establish effective communication with tourists, successfully present our cultural and historical tangible and intangible heritage and create a positive experience of our cities and Croatia to the tourists which in turn affects our image in the world and elevates us to the top of the most visited destinations.
