Abstract
Ovaj diplomski rad analizira pošlost’ u tekstovima Nikolaja Vasilljeviča Gogolja i Antona Pavloviča Čehova. Prvo poglavlje rada predstavlja i opisuje pošlost’, pojam od nezanemarive važnosti za rusku kulturu, pa tako i rusku književnost. Nakon toga, analizira se Gogoljev pristup pošlosti općenito te se zatim fokus prebacuje na pošlost’ u „Kabanici”. Iduća dva poglavlja na identičan se način bave Čehovljevim opisom pošlosti u „Dami sa psićem”. Naposljetku iznose se eventualne razlike ili sličnosti u stavovima o pošlosti ova dva autora te se donosi zaključak.
Abstract (english)
This paper analyses the concept of poshlost’ in texts written by Gogol and Chekhov. The first chapter introduces and describes poshlost’, a term that played an important role in Russian culture and literature. Next, the paper analyses Gogol’s relationship with poshlost’ in general and then focuses on poshlost’ in „Overcoat”. The next two chapters, similarly, deal with Chekhov and poshlost’ in „Lady with the dog”. Finally, differences and similarities in authors’ attitutes towards poshlost’ are disussed in the concluding chapter.
