Abstract
This thesis is concerned with analyzing Bruce Springsteen's songs dealing with the ideology of the American dream. In the introductory part, the concepts of ideology and the American dream are explained within the main theoretical frameworks. The main part of the analysis lists the songs and albums which deal with the American dream and explores the way it is represented. It is shown that Springsteen's attitude towards the American dream changes throughout his career and becomes more pessimistic. In the final part, the analysis is summed up and a conclusion is given.
Abstract (croatian)
Ovaj diplomski rad se bavi analizom pjesama Brucea Springsteena koje se tiču ideologije američkog sna. U uvodnom dijelu rada, koncepti ideologije i američkog sna su objašnjeni unutar glavnih teorijskih okvira. Glavni dio analize nabraja pjesme i albume koji se bave američkim snom i proučava način na koji je prikazan. Uočeno je da se Springsteenov stav prema američkom snu mijenja tokom njegove karijere te postaje pesimističniji. U posljednjem dijelu, analiza je sažeta te je podastrt zaključak.
