Abstract
Cilj ovog istraživanja bio je provjeriti izraženost nekih aspekata zadovoljstva izgledom i izraženost nekih osobina ličnosti kod bodybuildera i nesportaša. Istraživanje je provedeno na ukupno 68 ispitanika (30 bodybuildera i 30 nesportaša) u dobi od 17 do 44 godine. Mjerni instrumenti koji su korišteni su IPIP – 50 (International Personality Item Pool, Goldberg, 1999; Mlačić i Goldberg, 2007), Multidimenzionalna skala perfekcionizma (MPS – F; Frost i sur. 1990), subskala narcizma iz Kratke skale mračne trijade (Short Dark Triad, Jones i Paulhus, 2012) te upitnik za ispitivanje zadovoljstva tjelesnim izgledom koji je sastavljen za potrebe istraživanja. Rezultati su pokazali da su bodybuilderi savjesniji od nesportaša, uz to su se pokazale razlike na nekim subskalama perfekcionizma, odnosno bodybuilderi su organiziraniji od nesportaša, imaju više osobne standarde i manje sumnjaju u vlastitu izvedbu od nesportaša. Nadalje, rezultati su pokazali da se bodybuilderi i nesportaši razlikuju u nekim aspektima zadovoljstva tjelesnim izgledom, te su također prikazane i povezanosti između svih istraživanih osobina ličnosti unutar dvije skupine ispitanika. U obje skupine savjesnost se pokazala visoko, pozitivno povezana sa organiziranošću, a emocionalna stabilnost se u obje skupine pokazala negativno, nisko (u skupini nesportaša) odnosno umjereno (u skupini bodybuildera) povezana sa sumnjom u vlastitu izvedbu.
Abstract (english)
The aim of this study was to examine the certain aspects of body appearance satisfaction and the certain personality traits of bodybuilders. 68 participants (30 bodybuilders and 38 non - athletes) from age 17 to 44 participated in this study. Instruments used in this study were IPIP-50 Personality scale measuring Big Five personality traits (Extraversion, Agreeableness, Emotional stability, Conscientiousness and Intellect), Multidimensional perfectionism scale (MPS – F; Frost et al., 1990) measuring perfectionism and a narcissism subscale from Short Dark Triad (Short Dark Triad, Jones i Paulhus, 2012) measuring narcissism. In this study it was also used Body Appearance Satisfaction Questionaire that was constructed for it. Research results indicate that bodybuilders are more conscientious, more organized, that they have higher personal standards and doubt less in their performance in comparison with the non-athletes. Furthermore, the results have shown that bodybuilders and non-athletes differ in some aspects of body appearance satisfaction, and there is a presentation of correlation between all examined personality traits within every gruop. Within every group, Conscientiousness showed positive, high correlation with Organisation and Emotioanl stability showed negative low (for bodybuilder group) and moderate (for non-athlete group) correlation with doubt in own performance
